Rider Women Claim 2020 MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championship
New York, N.Y. – The Rider University women’s track and field team claimed the 2020 MAAC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship. The Broncs won the title at The New Balance Armory Track & Field Center after two days of competition.
Rider totaled 154.5 points to claim the program’s second title and the first since 2007.

Day 2 Highlights
- Tara Zeni from Quinnipiac University used her third-place finish in the Women’s Triple Jump on the second day to help secure both the Women’s Rookie of the Meet Field Events and the Women’s Most Outstanding Performer Field Events Awards.
- Ronetta Hunter kept Rider ahead of the pack with her first-place finish in the Shot Put as she posted a distance of 14.12m.
- The Most Outstanding Performer Track Events Award winner Egle Morenaite of Iona College set the new MAAC record in the Women’s 3000m with a time of 9:29.01, which was over nine seconds faster than the previous mark.
- The Rider 4x400 relay team finished with a time of 3:52.45 - finishing six seconds ahead of the group from Monmouth and just two seconds behind the team from Quinnipiac for a second-place finish, securing the MAAC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship in the final event of the evening.
