MAAC Pepsi Zero Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards go to Manhattan’s Warley and Quinnipiac’s Morris

Player of the Week
Courtney Warley, Manhattan

Warley earned two-straight 20-point games in the Jaspers' sweep of their annual Western New York trip, the first time Manhattan has gone 2-0 upstate under Head Coach Heather Vulin. In Manhattan's win over Canisius on Feb. 20, Warley scored a career-high 23 points and added 12 rebounds, including 10 on the defensive glass, for her sixth double-double of the season. Warley scored 17 of her points in the first half, including all 11 of Manhattan's points in the second-quarter of the seven-point victory. She also went 9-9 from the free throw line. Two days later in the Jaspers' win over Niagara, Warley shot 83.3 percent on her way to a 21-point day. For the week, Warley shot nearly 71 percent, while adding 9.0 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.5 steals per game, with a 1.2 assist/turnover ratio.
 
Rookie of the Week
Mikala Morris, Quinnipiac
Fr., Springfield, OH/Kenton Ridge
Morris had a tremendous offensive week for the Bobcats, scoring in double figures twice and averaging 13.5 points per game while pulling down 15 rebounds (7.5/game). The Ohio native had 15 points and nine rebounds against Fairfield on Saturday, two days after tallying 12 and six in a loss to Rider on Thursday night. The first year shot 60 percent from the field in the two games, going 12-20 from the floor overall.
