Saint Peter’s Ndefo and Siena’s Anthony Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Ndefo led Saint Peter’s to a perfect 3-0 week, with home wins over Monmouth, Manhattan, and Siena. The forward led the Peacocks with a team-high 2.0 blocked shots per game, while ranking second with 10.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per outing. Ndefo’s best performance of the week came on Sunday against Siena, where he stuffed the stat sheet by scoring 15 points, grabbing six rebounds, blocking three shots, and making two steals.
In MAAC play this season, Ndefo has been the defensive player of the year frontrunner, anchoring the conference’s top ranked defensive unit. Individually, he is the league leader in blocked shots and second-ranked player in steals. Additionally, Ndefo ranks top-15 in total rebounds, offensive rebounds, and defensive rebounds this season.
Amari Anthony
Siena College
Women’s Basketball
Appearing in all 19 games on the season thus far, Amari Anthony has made 15 starts, and ranks third on the team in scoring with 9.1 points per-game. The Winchester, Virginia native has led the team in scoring three times, and has gone in double-figures seven times, including in five of the last six contests. She currently ranks tied for eighth in the league in three-point percentage (36.5), 15th in overall field goal percentage (42.5) and inside the top-30 in scoring and minutes played per-game. A psychology major, Anthony holds a 3.05 cumulative GPA and has participated in numerous community service activities with the women's basketball program, such as volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Hi-5 Sports.
