Marist Sweeps Softball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week
Claire Oberdorf, Marist
R-Sr., Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem
Oberdorf hit .588 (10-for-17) with 10 RBis, seven runs scored, and five extra-base hits in Marist's five games this week as the Red Foxes went 4-1. She had an OPS of 1.768 (1.118 slugging, .650 on-base). She had three multi-hit games, three games with multiple RBIs, and two games with multiple runs scored. On March 6 against Fairleigh Dickinson, she went 4-for-4 with three runs scored, a double, and a triple in Marist's 9-0 win. The next day, against Delaware State, she drove in all five runs in a 5-4 comeback victory in nine innings. Her three-run homer brought Marist to within one in the fifth, she tied the game with an RBI single in the seventh when Marist was down to its final out, and delivered the game-winning single in the ninth. She closed out the week by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBIs, and a triple in a 10-1 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on March 8.
 
Pitcher and Rookie of the Week
Kiley Myers, Marist
Fr., Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe
Myers went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 11 innings over two appearances this week. She struck out 11 while allowing only two hits and one walk. Against Fairleigh Dickinson on March 6, Myers pitched a one-hitter in Marist's 9-0 win in six innings. She struck out six, and allowed just one walk. The following day, Myers came on in relief in the fifth inning of a game the Red Foxes were trailing Delaware State, 4-0. She tossed five scoreless innings of relief while allowing just one hit. She struck out five and didn't walk anyone. She then recorded the win as Marist rallied for a 5-4 triumph in nine innings.
