Player of the Week
Stella Johnson, Rider
Sr., Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic
Senior guard Stella Johnson recorded her second career triple-double last week for the Broncs as Rider moved back into a tie for first-place in the league standings. In wins over Fairfield and Canisius, Stella averaged 17.5 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Versus Fairfield, Johnson had 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Versus Canisius she recorded the third triple-double in program history thanks to a 15-point, 12-assist, 10-rebound performance. Her 12 assists were a new career-high. Against the Griffs, she also added three steals. She still leads the nation in scoring.
Rookie of the Week
Emily LaPointe, Manhattan
Fr., Staten Island, NY/Staten Island Academy
LaPointe scored 18 points over 35 minutes in the Jaspers' 51-38 win over Fairfield to put Manhattan in a three-way tie for third place in the MAAC standings. LaPointe shot 42.9 percent from the field and was perfect from the free throw line while contributing three assists to the Jasper offense. She pulled down six rebounds, including four on the defensive end, while also adding a steal.
