Five MAAC Men's Basketball Players Named to 2019-20 NABC All-District Teams

Kansas City, MO (March 23, 2020) – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2019-20 NABC Division I All-District teams and coaches, as selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I. Five Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s basketball players were named to the District 1 Team.
 
Named to the District 1 First Team was Iona College’s E.J. Crawford, Rider University’s Dimencio Vaughn, and Siena College’s Jalen Pickett. The District 1 Second Team saw Monmouth University’s Ray Salnave and Deion Hammond named to the list.
 
Crawford, Vaughn, and Pickett were all named to the 2019-20 All-MAAC First Team unanimously after strong seasons. Pickett was named the 2019-20 MAAC Player of the Year after guiding the Saints to the MAAC regular season title and No. 1 overall seed. Crawford returned to the All-MAAC First Team after averaging a league-high 18.8 points per game in the regular season. Vaughn led the Broncs to the No. 3 overall seed in the 2020 MAAC Hercules Tires Men’s Basketball Championship after leading the team in scoring (14.8 ppg) and steals (1.8 rpg).
 
Monmouth finished the MAAC regular season as the No. 4 seed, going 12-8 in conference play. Both Hammond (16.3 ppg) and Salnave (14.5 ppg) ranked in the top-10 in the league in scoring. Hammond was an All-MAAC First Team Selection, while Salnave was named to the All-MAAC Second Team.
