Burns, Drame Earn Final Pepsi Zero MAAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors

Burns averaged 19.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in a perfect 2-0 week to lead Siena to the program's first MAAC Regular Season Championship in a decade. Burns shot a remarkable 72 percent (13-18) from the field, and was a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line. On his Senior Night Wednesday, Burns erupted for his third double-double of the season with 24 points on 9-14 shooting and 10 rebounds. On Friday, Burns tallied 14 points and pulled down six rebounds as the Saints clinched the MAAC Regular Season Championship outright, while handing Monmouth just its second home loss all season. Burns was a perfect 4-4 from the field, and 5-5 from the charity stripe.
Rookie of the Week
Fousseyni Drame, Saint Peter’s
Fr., Bamako, Mali/Our Savior New American School (NY)
Freshman forward Fousseyni Drame scored 12 points and tallied a team-high seven rebounds in Saint Peter’s regular-season finale against Iona. He was perfect from the field, connecting on all five field goal attempts. Drame also added one assist and one steal in the win. Drame’s MAAC Rookie of the Week selection marks his third and the 10
th overall for Saint Peter’s rookies this season.
