Defensive Player of the Week
Peyton Smith, Marist
Sr., Raleigh, NC/Athens Drive High
Peyton Smith continued his dominant season in the circle for the Red Foxes. Not only did he have an impressive outing in the circle, going 22-32 on face-off attempts, but he also scooped up a career-high 16 ground balls in the game on Saturday against Delaware.
Offensive Player of the Week
Joe Tierney, Marist
Sr., Bethpage, NY/Bethpage
Joe Tierney had a career-game against Delaware on Saturday. The senior captain dished out a career-high four assists, and chipped in two goals, totaling a career-high six points. He did all this on just two shots. He also added a ground ball.
Rookie of the Week
Kyle Gucwa, Manhattan
Fr., Pottstown, PA/Bishop Shanahan
Kyle Gucwa scored six goals and one assist while helping lead Manhattan to a 1-1 week. Gucwa began his big week with a goal at Hartford, before notching five goals and an assist in the Jaspers win over NJIT. The rookie helped Manhattan overcome a three-goal deficit in the second half of the victory in New Jersey, as he had a hand in five of the Jaspers' six scores, including depositing the game-winner with just over a minute remaining. On the year, he has a team-best 13 goals and seven assists.
