Manhattan’s Hanson and Marist’s Petraccione Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Hanson notched a team-best 12 assists this past year, highlighted by a MAAC-record matching nine in a win over Wagner. He also scored a goal in route to earning MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors. A three-year team captain, he owns a 3.95 GPA, highlighted by a pair of 4.0 semesters. Hanson is also a member of the Epsilon Sigma Fi & Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Societies, and has worked as a tutor for the Manhattan College Center for Academic Success.
Ellie Petraccione
Marist College
Women’s Lacrosse
Senior attack Ellie Petraccione of the Marist Women’s Lacrosse team appeared in two games this season in a reserve role, but her major accomplishments have come off the field. The environmental science/policy major is also a member of the Marist Honors program. Her honors thesis on why non-scientists should care about protecting the environment was featured on the
Marist College webpage. Petraccione is also a multi-year MAAC All-Academic Team selection, made the ECAC President’s Honor Roll in 2018, and has made the Dean’s List in all seven of her previous semesters on campus. In addition to lacrosse and the Honors Program, Petraccione is also the Marist Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Co-Director of Community Service, a member of Marist's LEAP (Ladies Empowering Athletic Programs) Council, and a peer mentor.
