Players will now compete from home, practicing social distancing as they participate in the championships. Games will include Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (SSBU), and League of Legends. Competition in Rocket League and SSBU are presented as part of the EGFC Season 1 from the Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF).

Marist College comes into the championships as the top seed in both League of Legends and Rocket League. Canisius College owns the top seed in SSBU.

“The MAAC believes it is important that we go ahead with our Esports Championships,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “After discussing the capability of running the championships with our membership, the MAAC felt the strong desire for schools to continue to connect with their student bodies, and esports has the capacity to do exactly that.”
