Canisius’ Balawejder and Fairfield’s DeVita Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Daniel Balawejder

Men’s Lacrosse
Canisius’ Daniel Balawejder played 51 games in his four-year career as a Golden Griffin, serving as the team’s primary face-off specialist. He scored two career goals and recorded six assists in his time in the Blue and Gold, and he posted a 45.3 percent effort at the faceoff X in his four seasons. In the classroom, the Toronto, Ontario native is a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree. He will earn his undergraduate degree in psychology from Canisius this weekend.
 
Diana DeVita
Fairfield University
Women’s Lacrosse
Diana DeVita was one of the top facilitators in the MAAC during the 2020 campaign. She ranked third in the conference with 1.86 assists per game, dishing a team-leading 13 helpers in seven contests. DeVita also scored 10 goals of her own to slot fifth in the MAAC at 3.29 points per outing. In the classroom, she is a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree and a Fairfield University Dean’s List student as a psychology major.
