Alberico and Hopkins Named to 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team
Alberico maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA both as an undergrad and graduate student, pursuing a degree in marketing. Hopkins also boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA as an undergraduate student, studying marketing.

AUSTIN, TX – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2020 Academic All-America Division I Track & Field/Cross Country Teams on Thursday. Christian Alberico and Jac Hopkins both earned Academic All-America Third Team honors.
Alberico and Hopkins become the first cross country/track & field student-athletes to be named to a CoSIDA Academic All-America Team since Cassandra Gill '17 and Chartt Miller '17. Alberico maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA both as an undergrad and graduate student, pursuing a degree in marketing. Hopkins also boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA as an undergraduate student, studying marketing.
The two Gaels were among 11 student-athletes named to the Academic All-America Division I Team with a flawless 4.0 GPA. It marks just the third time in Iona history that multiple student-athletes earned Academic All-America honors in the same season. Alberico and Hopkins join the ranks of Tim Bayley '07 and Stacey Moyer '07, as well as Gabriella Di Domizio '18, Gill and Miller, who all earned the honor in 2018.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America selections are recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.
