Jessica Grasso Promoted to MAAC Deputy Commissioner

Edison, N.J. (June 3, 2020) – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Commissioner Richard Ensor announced today that current Sr. Associate Commissioner Jessica Grasso will be promoted to Deputy Commissioner, effective immediately. Identified as an emerging leader in intercollegiate athletics, Jessica Grasso is entering her sixth year as the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner and Chief Financial Officer of the MAAC. In her role, she is responsible for all financial matters, NCAA reporting, and internal operations of the MAAC, including direct supervision of all full-time employees and contractors. Additionally, her role includes the designation of Senior Woman Administrator.
 
“Jess has been an incredible resource to the conference as the MAAC navigates the turbulent COVID-19 environment and its impact on college athletics,” said Ensor. “A tireless advocate for the student-athletes and expanded opportunities for women’s leaders, I rely on her input on all major issues involving MAAC operations and finance.”
 
Besides the oversight operations of the conference office and its championships, Grasso’s financial responsibilities span over several external hosting events. These include the NCAA Men’s Basketball First & Second Rounds, NCAA Women’s Basketball Regionals, NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships, the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic, Basketball Hall of Fame Tip Off, and the Orlando Invitational. In 2020 she began a four-year term on the NCAA Rowing Committee.
 
Grasso has participated in various NCAA and Women Leaders in College Sport programs; these include the annual regional conferences Women’s Leadership Forum, the NCAA Achieving Communication Success Workshop (2017), NCAA Women’s Basketball Mock Selection Exercise (2017), Women Leaders Leadership Enhancement Institute (2016), NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum (2016), and the Women Leaders Institute for Administrative Advancement (2009 –formerly NACWAA).
 
Grasso currently serves as an active member of Women Leaders in College Sports, and an officer of the CAANJ (Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey) Executive Committee. She is also a member of WISE (Women in Sports & Events).
