Two former Canisius men's lacrosse players, Tim Edwards and Holden Garlent, and assistant coach Kris Alleyne, have been named to Major League Lacrosse (MLL) rosters for the 2020 season, the league announced earlier this week.

Edwards, who played for the Golden Griffins from 2012-15, was selected to return to the Boston Cannons, while Garlent, a two-time All-MAAC First Team selection, will play defense for the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Additionally, Alleyne will be on the active roster as a goalkeeper for the Connecticut Hammerheads.

For the 2020 season, the MLL rosters introduced a 25-man active roster. This will allow MLL teams to carry one of the largest rosters in league history. With a grueling schedule of games, teams will need the additional legs and endurance. Should a member of the 25-man roster test positive for COVID, the team may activate one of their five reserve players.

The MLL's 20th Anniversary Season, set to start July 18, will be played entirely in the city of Annapolis, Md. The season will be one-week long and will host all six MLL teams. The week will conclude with a final-four playoff, crowning the 2020 MLL champion the weekend of July 25-26.

The Major League Lacrosse season will air exclusively on the ESPN Networks and ESPN+.
