Siena’s Pacheco and Saint Peter’s Scarratt Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student Athletes of the Week

Edison, N.J. (Sept. 23, 2020) – Siena College’s Jacob Pacheco and Saint Peter’s University’s Victoria Scarratt have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student Athletes of the Week.

A transfer from 2018 NJCAA National Champion Pima Community College (AZ), Pacheco served as a team captain for the Saints in 2019 and made 14 starts in 15 total matches on the pitch. The defender logged 1,266 total minutes and registered five total shots, including three on-goal. A mathematics major, Pacheco holds a 3.64 cumulative GPA, and was a member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll for the 2019-20 season.

Senior goalkeeper Victoria Scarratt is coming off another solid season with the Peacocks, in which she anchored the Saint Peter's defense for the vast majority of 2019. The Montville native appeared in 14 games in 2019, while earning the starting nod in 13 contests. A force in the net, Scarratt ranked first in the league last season in saves per game (7.29), second in saves (102), fourth in save percentage (.802), and eighth in shutouts per game (.143). The +100 save season is the second of its kind in Scarratt's collegiate career, repeating the feat from her freshman year when she registered an impressive 120 saves on the year. 2019 also marked the second consecutive year that Scarratt was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.
