MAAC Institutions Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Sept. 25, 2020) – Ten Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) soccer teams have received United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards for the 2019-20 academic year. To be eligible for the award, a team must post a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
 
A total of 903 teams, 341 men’s teams and 562 women’s teams, were named in the United Soccer Coaches announcement. Of that total, 183 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.
 
Monmouth University, Quinnipiac University and Siena College represented the MAAC with both their men’s and women’s teams receiving recognition. In addition, Fairfield University (women), Iona College (women), Marist College (men) and Rider University (men) also had teams recognized. The Monmouth women’s soccer team lead all MAAC institutions, boasting a 3.72 team GPA.
