Canisius Men’s Lacrosse Program Earns Rawling’s Community Spotlight Honors
EDISON, N.J. (Oct. 1, 2020) – The Rawling’s Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Community Spotlight is a weekly feature of those giving back in an effort to make a difference in their communities. This week, the MAAC highlights the Canisius men’s lacrosse program.
As part of their ongoing commitment to give back to the Greater Buffalo Community, members of the Canisius men’s lacrosse program recently spent time participating in a build day with the Buffalo chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a national organization whose mission is to end child bed-lessness and ensure that “NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!”
Members of the team helped with every step of the bed-building process, from staining the wood, cutting and preparing the pieces, to assembling and building the frames.
During their building session, the group was able to construct 16 twin beds, which will be distributed to children in the greater Buffalo area in the coming weeks.
