Marist’s Newblatt, Owens, and Fairfield’s Haut Earn Molten MAAC Volleyball Weekly Awards

Jordan Newblatt broke Marist's single-match record for kills in back-to-back matches this past weekend. In the Red Foxes' 3-1 win over Canisius on Oct. 9, she finished with 31 kills and tied her career high with 21 digs while hitting .400. The following day, she broke the record again with 34 kills and set a career high with 22 digs while hitting .311 as Marist prevailed over Niagara, 3-1. Marist's previous record for kills in a match was 28, which occurred three times in five-set matches. The record for a four-set match was 25. For the week, Newblatt averaged 8.38 points, 8.13 kills, and 5.38 digs per set while hitting .353 as the Red Foxes went 2-0 with a pair of four-set victories over Canisius & Niagara.

Owens averaged 5.50 digs, 1.75 assists, and 0.38 aces per set as Marist went 2-0 this past weekend with a pair of four-set victories over Canisius and Niagara. Against Canisius on Oct. 9, Owens tallied 28 digs, the second-highest total of her career. She added seven assists, an ace, and a .973 receiving percentage. The following day against Niagara, Owens finished with 16 digs, seven assists, two aces, and a .952 receiving percentage. For the weekend, her receiving percentage was .966 with just two errors.
 
Rookie of the Week
Mikayla Haut, Fairfield

Mikayla Haut averaged 2.80 kills and 1.20 digs per set in five frames during the Stags' 2-0 road weekend. After posting four kills and two digs in two sets of action at Saint Peter's, Haut reached double figures with 10 kills to go along with four digs and a block in a sweep at Rider.
