EDISON, NJ (Nov. 11, 2021) – The 2021 NCAA Division I Cross Country Regional Championships will take place Friday, November 12, with all 11 MAAC institutions competing in either the Mid-Atlantic Regional in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania or the Northeast Regional in Boston, Massachusetts.
 
Traveling to Bethlehem, PA for the Mid-Atlantic Regional which will be hosted by Lehigh University is Monmouth University, Rider University, and Saint Peter’s University. Heading to Boston, MA for the Northeast Regional Championship, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell, will be Canisius College, Fairfield University, Iona College, Manhattan College, Marist College, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, and Siena College.
 
At the 2021 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships on Oct. 30 in Lake Buena Vista, FL at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort, Iona swept both the men’s and women’s championships. The men’s title was the Gaels’ 31st consecutive championship, and the women claimed their six-straight crown.
 
Last year during the 2020-21 Cross Country spring season, Iona men’s cross country was selected to its 19^th straight NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, while Siena’s Brandon Olden was selected as an individual. On the women’s side, Iona’s Gemma Nuttall was selected as an individual participant. The Gaels placed 10th as a unit out of 30 teams running at the 10K course and both Jack O'Leary and Ehab El-Sandali earned All-American honors.
 
The Mid-Atlantic Regional begins at noon with the women’s 6K and the men’s 10k run at 1:00 p.m. The Northeast Regional starts at 11:00 a.m. with the women’s 6K and the men’s 10K at noon.
 
The NCAA Division I Championship will take place November 20 in Tallahassee, Florida at Apalachee Regional Park hosted by Florida State.
