Monmouth University (15-5-1, 8-1-1 MAAC) fell to Penn State University (12-7, 5-5 Big Ten) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament tonight, 3-1.
The Hawks’ trip to University Park, PA marked the sixth postseason appearance in program history. In their last appearance, Monmouth fell to Brown by way of penalty kicks in 2019.

- Rachel Ludwick scored the lone goal for the Hawks in the 78th minute, the first of her career.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Rebecca Winslow made two saves.
- Lauren Karabin recorded her fourth assist of the season, her 24th point of the season.
