EDISON, NJ (Nov. 17, 2021) – All four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s basketball teams in action on Tuesday played at home, with three picking up victories. Iona improved to 3-0 for the first time in over a decade, Fairfield won its first game of the season, and Monmouth opened the newly renamed Dr. Marilyn A. McNeil Arena with a victory.

Led by Jalen Leach and Makai Willis scoring 14 points apiece, seven Stags scored in double figures as Fairfield University men's basketball ran past visiting Medgar Evers, 110-55, in its 2021-22 home opener on Tuesday night at Webster Bank Arena. In total, 13 Stags contributed to the scoring while all 16 active players took the court for at least five minutes in the win.

The Iona College men's basketball team never trailed in an 82-74 victory over Hofstra in non-conference action at the Hynes Center on Tuesday night. Graduate Tyson Jolly led four double-digit scorers with a season-high 21 points in the win. Nelly Junior Joseph (12), Dylan van Eyck (11), and Quinn Slazinski (10) also surpassed double-figures. Led by George Papas’ 31 points, Monmouth University men's basketball defeated Lehigh University in its home opener Tuesday night, 85-75. The 31 points were the most by any player in the conference this season, and the 30-point performance was the third of Papas’ career. Walker Miller chipped in with 19 points and Shavar Reynolds added 16 points in the winning effort.

Ivy League favorite Yale defeated Siena men’s basketball 82-54 Tuesday night at the Times Union Center. Jackson Stormo recorded his first collegiate double-double, posting career-highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Saints. Colby Rogers added 18 points for Siena in the game.
