EDISON, NJ (Nov. 21, 2021) – Six out of the nine Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s basketball teams in action on Saturday earned huge out of conference win on Saturday. Headlining the day’s victors were Iona, which improved to a perfect 5-0 on the season, followed by Fairfield, Manhattan, Marist, Monmouth, and Quinnipiac.

Fairfield University men's basketball made its first-ever trip to the Pitt Center on Saturday night to renew the crosstown rivalry with Sacred Heart. Led by 15 points from Taj Benning, the Stags dropped the host Pioneers by a score of 71-61. Supreme Cook added a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Iona College men's basketball team used a staunch defensive attack in the second half to separate from North Alabama in an 81-65 win in the in the MAAC/ASUN Challenge at the HP Field House at ESPN's Wide World of Sports. The Gaels improved to 5-0 on the season and completed a 4-0 sweep by the MAAC in the event. Nelly Junior Joseph finished with 17 points and nine rebounds, earning MVP of the event.
