The Iona College men's basketball team dropped its first game of the 2021-22 campaign in a 72-65 loss to Belmont in the 2021 ESPN Events Invitational semifinal at the Field House at ESPN's Wide World of Sports. Freshman Walter Clayton Jr. scored all of his team-high 13 points in the second half, while sophomore Nelly Junior Joseph posted his second straight double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.
