Monmouth Stuns Cincinnati on the Road to Headline Men’s MAAC Hoops on Saturday

EDISON, NJ (Nov. 28, 2021) – The upsets continued for men’s hoops in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on Saturday as Monmouth toppled Cincinnati on the road in Ohio in front of 8,262 fans.

Monmouth men’s basketball stunned Cincinnati on Saturday, knocking off the Bearcats, 61-59 at Fifth Third Arena. Cincinnati became the seventh high-major opponent defeated by Monmouth under King Rice and the Hawks 5-1 start is the best since 1990-91. Marcus McClary led Monmouth with 18 points, followed by Shavar Reynolds’ 14 and Walker Miller’s 13.

The Marist men's basketball team dropped a non-conference game at Army West Point on Saturday, 65-61. Jao Ituka led three Red Foxes in double digits with 12 points and was joined by Matt Herasme and Noah Harris, who had 11 points apiece.

The Saint Peter's men’s basketball team held a second half lead over Providence but ultimately fell 85-71 to the Big East foe at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Saturday. Daryl Banks III scored a career-high 26 points to lead the Peacocks, while Doug Edert (16) and Fousseyni Drame (13) also scored in double figures.
