Iona’s Junior Joseph and Fairfield’s Long Claim Hercules Tires Men’s MAAC Basketball Weekly Awards

Sophomore Nelly Junior Joseph averaged a double-double with 12.3 points and 10.3 rebounds in three games at the 2021 ESPN Events Invitational. In the win over No. 10 Alabama, Jr. Joseph posted a 15-point, 11 rebound double-double. He followed it up with a second one vs. Belmont with 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. He completed the week with 10 points and five rebounds vs. No. 4 Kansas.
 
Rookie of the Week
TJ Long, Fairfield

TJ Long continued to provide firepower from the Fairfield bench, averaging 16.0 points per game on 11-for-19 (.579) shooting, including an 8-for-13 (.615) clip from distance. Long scored 11 points with five rebounds in Wednesday's overtime win over America East favorite Stony Brook. He then set a new career standard with 21 points, sparked by 5-for-8 shooting from distance, in the Sunday meeting with Loyola Maryland.
