EDISON, NJ (December 1, 2021) – Canisius’ Shaunae Brown and Saint Peter’s’ Daryl Banks III have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Daryl Banks III had a strong week for the Saint Peter’s University men’s basketball team, scoring double figures in both games for the Peacocks. Banks III had a career day against Providence Saturday, scoring a career-high 26 points while going 9 for 16 from the floor. Banks III also reached double figures in Tuesday's win over LIU, scoring 10 points and adding four rebounds. This season, Banks III is averaging 11.5 points per game on the year.

Women’s Basketball

Junior guard Shaunae Brown has taken part in 40 games during her Canisius career, averaging 4.4 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. A native of Toronto, Brown has started all six games played this season, contributing 7.0 points, 2.0 rebound and 2.3 assists per game. She has scored in double figures on two occasions, highlighted by a career-high 16 points in the Griffs’ road contest at Little Three rival St. Bonaventure on Nov. 17. Majoring in human services at Canisius, Brown was named to the 2020-21 MAAC Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team.
