Strong Second Halves by Jaspers and Saints Lead to Tuesday Night Wins in Men’s Basketball Action

EDISON, NJ (Dec. 1, 2021) – Both the Manhattan Jaspers and the Siena Saints dominated the second half of their respective games, leading to a pair of wins for Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s hoops on Tuesday night.

The Manhattan Jaspers men’s basketball team earned a hard fought 78-73 victory against Fairleigh Dickinson in Draddy Gymnasium on Tuesday. Five Jaspers scored in double-figures in the winning effort. Samir Stewart and Warren Williams scored 14 points each, Samba Diallo tallied 13 points, Jose Perez added 12 points, and Josh Roberts chipped in with 10 points.

Siena men’s basketball used a 55-point second half, to rally past Army West Point 83-67 at Christl Arena. The Saints, used a decisive 22-2 second half run to earn their second victory of the season. Colby Rogers led the way with 18 points. Anthony Gaines followed with 16 points, and Nick Hopkins (11) and Aidan Carpenter (10) rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Saints.

Rider men’s basketball fell at Ole Miss, 75-51, on Tuesday night at SJB Pavilion. Mervin James led the Broncs with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Ajiri Ogemuno-Johnson added 10 points.
