Monmouth men's basketball took Big East foe St. John's to the wire on Thursday night, falling just short of an upset win, 88-83, at Carnesecca Arena. The defeat snapped the Hawks seven-game winning streak, which was the longest in the MAAC this season. Five Hawks scored in double figures, led by a career-high matching 25 points from Shavar Reynolds. Also in double figures were Marcus McClary (14), Walker Miller (13), Myles Foster (13), and George Papas (11).
