Saint Peter’s Stays Undefeated, Niagara Gets First Win in MAAC Play

Niagara erased a 16-point deficit to capture their first MAAC victory of the season over Manhattan, 73-70. Maddy Yelle scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Purple Eagles. Ally Haar added 18 points and Angel Parker contributed 12 points for Niagara. Brazil Harvey-Carr scored 19 points, Jenna Jordan added 18 points and Dee Dee Davis contributed 12 points in the loss for the Jaspers. The Purple Eagles improved their all-time record over Manhattan to 21-17.

Kendrea Williams scored a career-high 27 points en route to scoring her 2,000th career point in Saint Peter’s, 65-55 victory over Canisius on Sunday afternoon. Williams also added eight rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead the Peacocks. Sky Castro (11) and Kassondra Brown (10) added double-digit rebounds for the Peacocks. Shaunae Brown (13), Lydia Gattozzi (12) and Dani Haskell (10) each scored double-figures for the Griffs in the loss. However, the Peacocks outscored Canisius, 41-23 in the second and third quarters to pull out their second MAAC victory of the season.
 
The 2021-22 campaign culminates with the 2022 Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 8-12 at Atlantic City's Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
