Monmouth men's basketball set the program mark for the best start to a season at 10-2 Sunday, topping Colgate 77-66 in West Long Branch. The Hawks were led by 30 points from George Papas and 15 points from Walker Miller in the win. It marked the eighth non-conference win for Monmouth, tied for the second most in school history, and the 10th straight home win. The Hawks also become the first MAAC team to double-digit wins this season.

Fairfield men's basketball dropped a road contest to host UMass, 77-73, in overtime on Sunday at the Mullins Center. The Stags got a career-high 21 points from Allan Jeanne-Rose and a double-double from Supreme Cook, scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. The defeat snapped Fairfield’s five-game winning streak.
