Williams Named MET Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week

NEW YORK (Dec. 21, 2021) --- Kendrea Williams of Saint Peter's has been named Division I Women’s Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.

The designation, for games played Dec. 13-19, is unique in that it encompasses players from 21 Met area schools across Division I.

A 5-9 graduate student guard from Piscataway, NJ, Williams --- who also was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference player of the week --- helped the Peacocks (4-6) achieve a 2-0 start in league play along with sweeping their annual road trip to the Buffalo region for the first time since 2002.

A transfer in her third competitive season at Saint Peter’s after playing her first two years at FDU-Florham, Williams averaged 19.5 points this past weekend while reaching a career scoring milestone of 2,000 points.
