Canisius forward Scott Hitchon recorded his first career double-double in his 105th career game as a Golden Griffin Dec. 22, as he helped lead the Griffs to a 97-90 overtime win over FGCU at home. Hitchon poured in a season-high 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the victory. He also had two assists, a steal and a blocked shot. He ended the night by shooting 9-for-15 from the field, with six of those field goals coming from 3-point land.

Walter Clayton Jr., Iona

Iona freshman guard Walter Clayton Jr. led Iona to an 83-72 win over CAA-favorite Delaware Tuesday night at UBS Arena at Belmont Park. Clayton Jr. scored 18 of his team-high 21 points in a decisive second-half effort. He shot 8-for-11 (72.7%) from the field and was 4-for-5 (80.0%) from long distance. The rookie point guard added five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 22 minutes off the bench. The rookie point guard set or matched career-highs in points, rebounds, field goals, three-point field goals, and steals.
