EDISON, NJ (Dec. 3, 2021) – Monmouth University was selected as the preseason favorites in both the Men's and Women's MAAC Indoor Track & Field Preseason Coaches’ Polls, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Defending indoor track & field champions, the Monmouth men's team swept the poll with a total of 64 points and all eight first-place votes. The Hawks have won three straight indoor titles and six total indoor titles since joining the conference in 2013.
Rider University was tabbed second behind the Hawks, receiving 56 points, while Iona College rounded out the top three with 46 votes. Manhattan College (39) was voted in fourth place and in fifth place was Saint Peter’s University (33). Siena College (20) Marist College (19) and Canisius College (11) closed out the preseason poll.
On the women's side, Monmouth received a total of 78 points with seven out of the nine first place votes. The Hawks have claimed six indoor crowns, winning all six in consecutive years from 2014 through 2019.
Defending indoor track & field champion, Rider, was selected second just behind the Hawks earning 70 points with a one first place vote, while Quinnipiac was a close third picking up the final first place vote and 68 total points to close the top three. Iona and Manhattan tied for fourth place, each getting 49 points to round out the top five. Saint Peter's (29), Siena (27), Marist (25) and Canisius (10) rounded out the poll.

The 2022 MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 19-20, hosted by Manhattan College at the New Balance Armory Track and Field Center in New York, New York for the 18
th consecutive year.
