Saint Peter’s Men’s Soccer Selected as Preseason Favorite; Dominic Laws Tabbed Preseason Player of the Year
EDISON, NJ (Feb. 16, 2021) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced the 2020-21 Preseason Coaches’ Poll and Preseason All-MAAC Team for Men’s Soccer, as voted on by the league’s head coaches. Saint Peter’s University has been selected as the preseason favorite, with senior forward Dominic Laws being selected as the Preseason Player of the Year.
Saint Peter’s received six of 11 possible first place votes, totaling 112 points. The Peacocks narrowly beat out Quinnipiac University, with the Bobcats collecting five first place votes and a total of 111 points. Quinnipiac was followed by Marist College in third, Iona College in fourth, and Manhattan College in fifth. Fairfield University and Rider University tied for sixth, with both teams claiming 67 points. The 2020-21 MAAC Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll was rounded out by Monmouth University, Niagara University, Canisius College, and Siena College.
