Quinnipiac’s Morris and Saint Peter’s James Named Hercules Tires MAAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Award Winners

Mikala Morris, Quinnipiac

Morris finished the regular season with a dominant performance in a pair of games at Niagara. The sophomore totaled 33 points and 35 rebounds in two games, including a MAAC season-best 23 rebounds in Friday's victory. The 23 rebounds are the fourth-most in Quinnipiac's Division I history.
She followed Friday's effort with a 23-point, 12-rebound outing on Saturday where she also shot an incredible 10-12 from the field.
Her pair of double-doubles gives her a league-best nine on the season and she is now responsible for the two highest single-game rebounding totals in the MAAC this year.
Rookie of the Week
Ajia James, Saint Peter’s
Fr., Stafford, VA/Bishop O’Connell
James kept her hot streak going as the rookie recorded another pair of double-doubles this weekend, this time helping lift Saint Peter's to a series sweep over visiting Siena from Feb. 26-27. In the initial matchup, James finished with 10 points on 55.6 percent shooting while pulling down a team-leading 13 rebounds to aid in the team's 66-58 victory. James only improved when it came to the rematch, scoring a team-leading 17 points while matching her 13 rebounds from the previous night and shooting 61.5 percent from the field. James has now recorded four consecutive double-double performances and holds five on the season.
