Atlantic City, N.J. (March 10, 2021) – No.1 seed Marist holds off Siena to advance to the semifinals. No.7 Rider continues their impressive run in the tournament with an upset of No.2 Quinnipiac.

Key Moments:
  • With a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds, Marist’s Willow Duffell was the Tropicana Player of the Game.
  • Sarah Barcello filled up the stat sheet with a game high 20 points and six steals. She also added five rebounds.
  • Siena was able to come back late in the game due to a 14-2 run.
  • Siena Junior Lala Watts turned in a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds.
Notables:
  • Marist is now 25-1 all-time in MAAC Championship play as the #1 seed, with 24 consecutive victories.
  • Marist has now reached at least the MAAC Semifinals 17 times in head coach Brian Giorgis’ 19 seasons as head coach. The Red Foxes have won at least one game in the championships in all of Giorgis’ 19 seasons.

Key Moments:
  • With 13 points, including going 3-for-3 from behind the arc Raphaela Toussaint was the Tropicana Player of the Game.
  • Junior point guard Amanda Mobley had seven points, 10 assists, three steals and two rebounds in 37 minutes of action. Mobley's 10 dimes were a season-high.
  • Rider played a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Bobcats, 25-9 in the final frame to win the contest, 62-50.
  • Rider was able to get strong contributions from Daija Moses and Lenaejha Evans who combined for 15 points off the bench.
Notables:
  • This is the first upset of a 2-seed in the Quarterfinals since 1995.
  • The Broncs shot 44 percent from the floor compared to the Bobcats' 29 percent.
  • The battle on the boards was won by the Bobcats, 37-33. 18 of Quinnipiac's rebounds came on the offensive side of the floor.
  • This is the fifth year in a row that the Broncs have advanced to the MAAC Championship Semifinals.
