Monmouth’s McCook and Niagara’s Kratholm Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

EDISON, N.J. (Mar. 10, 2021) – Monmouth University’s Liddie McCook and Niagara University’s Nicholas Kratholm have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Liddie McCook placed first in the Hawks first event in over a year, winning the first event of the Monmouth Spring Series at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood, NJ. It is the second career win for the sophomore, her third top-five, and fourth top-10 in just eight events. She held off Big East competition from St. John’s by making par on her final eight holes to shoot 76 and capture individual tournament honors.

Nicholas Kratholm was one of 30 NCAA Division I men’s basketball student-athletes selected as a candidate for the 2020-21 Senior Class Award in February.  An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. 
 
Kratholm, a native of Louisville, Ky., has started in every game this season while averaging career-highs in points and rebounds, and he picked up his first career double-double. Kratholm holds a 3.53 grade-point average and has made the Dean’s list every semester. He also is studying in the Niagara University Microbiology Lab on a research project with a focus on discovering and studying bacteriophages and their effectiveness to treat MRSA and other bacteria-resistant bacteria. He will earn a Bachelor of Science in Bio-Technology this spring and plans to attend medical school.
