Frankfort, KY – Head Coach
Heather Vulin and the Manhattan Women's Basketball team have accepted an invitation to play in the 2021 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI).
The eight-team invitational will be played over three days from Friday, March 19 to Sunday, March 21, and will be contested at the William Exum Center.
All eight teams will play three games, as there will be a winner's and loser's bracket.
The Jaspers, which posted their best MAAC winning percentage (.750) since the 2002-03 season, en route to registering a 10-7 record, including 9-3 during league play, will be making their third-ever WBI appearance.
Manhattan partook in the WBI in each of the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons, advancing to the semifinals each time thanks to registering wins in each of the opening two rounds.
All told, the Jaspers will be making their seventh-ever postseason appearance.
Abilene Christian, Cleveland State, Florida International, Longwood, Loyola University Chicago, Northern Arizona and Portland are the other seven teams that will join the Green & White in Kentucky.
An official bracket will be announced later today.
