Offensive Player of the Week
Liam McGregor, Monmouth
Jr., Middletown, NJ/ Middletown North
McGregor scored a goal in each of Monmouth's games this week. In the 5-0 win over Manhattan on Thursday, he scored on a laser to the near post. Against Iona on Sunday, he gave Monmouth the lead with a sliding tap-in near the goal line.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jared Mazzola, Quinnipiac
Sr., Katonah, N.Y./ Somers
Mazzola recorded two shutout wins for the Bobcats last week. Quinnipiac's senior keeper made three saves in a shutout of Fairfield on Thursday, March 18, then earned another three-save clean sheet on Sunday in a win over Niagara.
He faced 20 total shots over the two wins, helping anchor a Bobcats' defense that hasn't surrendered a goal yet this spring.
Co-Rookies of the Week
Cam Shaw, Siena
Fr., Ottawa, ON/St. Joseph Catholic
Shaw notched an assist on the Saints' first goal of the season to knot the game at 1 against Canisius, and then scored the game-winner to make it 3-2 in the 76th minute off a blast from 35 yards out for his first collegiate goal.
Guillaume Vacter, Rider
Fr., Moisselles, France
Vacter scored the game-winning goal off a set piece in the 54th minute against Iona. Taner Bay found Vacter, who pushed up from his back position for the play at the right post for the finish. It was Vacter's first goal as a Bronc. He was also instrumental in holding Iona off the scoreboard in the 1-0 clean sheet.
