MAAC Announces Levy Recognition MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Award Winners

Defensive Player of the Week
Andrea Liotta, Manhattan
So., Glenwood Landing, NY/North Shore
Liotta had a big week over two games against Fairfield, registering 11 draw controls, six ground balls and three forced turnovers. She had four draw controls and two ground balls in the first match-up. Liotta followed that up with seven draw controls and four ground balls in the rematch later that week. Has a team-best 15 draw controls and nine ground balls this year.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Shea Swartwout, Niagara
GS, Cortland, NY/Cortland High School
Shea Swartwout averaged 5.0 goals and 5.5 points per game as the Purple Eagles picked up two wins over the Siena Saints on March 19 and 21. Swartwout, who has led the game in goals in all three games, scored a career-high six goals on March 19. In the comeback win on March 21, Swartwout finished with four goals on eight shots and added an assist. She has scored 14 goals through three games, which are the most to start a season in program history, and her 4.67 goals per game lead the MAAC and sixth in the nation. She also moved into 10th place on the career goals list and surpassed the 100-point mark for her career on March 21.
 
Rookie of the Week
Brooke Lennon, Fairfield
Fr., Bethesda, MD/Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart
Brooke Lennon totaled five points in a 2-0 week for the Stags. The midfielder also picked up five ground balls and recorded a caused turnover.
