MAAC Hires James Donovan as Director of New Media

EDISON, NJ (Mar. 26, 2021) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced today the hiring of James Donovan as a Director of New Media/Communications for the conference. His first day is set for Monday, March 29th.
 
In his position, Donovan will assist in the marketing, content development, championship operations, promotion, and development of the MAAC. In addition, he will serve as the media contact for MAAC hosted NCAA events, oversee conference award processes, maintain conference statistics, and serve as the liaison for MAAC sports information directors.
 
“We are very happy to have James join the MAAC family,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “Coming from NBC Sports Group, along with his range of experiences in athletic communications, he will be a great asset to the MAAC. We are looking forward to having him join the team.”
 
Donovan was most recently with NBC Sports Group as a Communications Assistant working out of Stamford, Connecticut. While there he managed the Senior Vice President of Communications schedule as well as travel for all of the communications executives. He also compiled clips for all of NBC Sports Group’s priorities and assisted in the upkeep of the online press box.
 
Before working with NBC Sports Group, Donovan spent time with teams in the NFL, NHL, and NLL in various communication and media relations roles.
 
Donovan grew up in New Britain, Pennsylvania before attending Canisius College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and his Master’s in Sport Administration.
