Siena’s St. Claire, Canisius’ Frank, and Iona’s Santa Maria Named Rawlings MAAC Baseball Weekly Award Winners
Player of the Week
Evan St. Claire, Siena

St. Claire erupted to hit .556 with a .667 on-base percentage and .722 slugging percentage spanning six games last week. The junior center fielder went 10-18 at the plate with seven runs scored, five walks, three doubles, two RBIs, and two stolen bases in a solid all-around week which also saw him play a perfect center field defensively with 16 putouts. St. Claire reached base safely at least twice in five of six games, headlined by four multi-hit performances. St. Claire leads the MAAC in both hits (14) and runs scored (nine) through the first two weekends of play.
Pitcher of the Week
Will Frank, Canisius
Grd., Grand Island, NY/St. Joseph’s
Will Frank tossed the Griffs' first seven-inning complete game shutout since March 2018 with a two-hit shutout of Iona in the opening game of Sunday's doubleheader. Frank walked one batter, striking out a career-high 10 batters.
Rookie of the Week
Tony Santa Maria, Iona
Fr., Absecon, NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Technology
Tony Santa Maria was atop the Maroon & Gold batting order over the week and through six games as Iona's starting shortstop, he had a .435 batting average, a .548 on base percentage and a .487 slugging percentage. Santa Maria had two games with 3+ hits and finished the week with 10 hits in 24 plate appearances. Santa Maria also drew six walks and struck out only two times.
