2021 Hercules Tires MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship Field Set
Edison, N.J. (March 7, 2021) – The field is set for the 2021 Hercules Tires MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship. The 10-team tournament will take place from March 9-13 in Atlantic City’s Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
The top-six teams in the bracket all earn a bye in the first round. No. 1 Marist (15-3, 13-3 MAAC) secured the top seed and their second straight regular season championship.
First round action tips off on Tuesday, March 9 with No. 8 Niagara University and No. 9 Siena College kicking off the women’s tournament at 12:00 p.m. The winner of that contest will face No. 1 Marist on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m.
No. 7 Rider takes on No. 10 Monmouth University in game two on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. No. 2 Quinnipiac University will await the winner of that matchup in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
Closing out the quarterfinals on Thursday is No. 3 Saint Peter’s University taking on No. 6 Iona College at 12:00 p.m. and No. 4 Fairfield University battling against No. 5 Manhattan at 2:30 p.m.
All games of the 2021 Hercules Tires MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship will be broadcasted on ESPN+, with the exception of the championship game on Saturday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m., which will be broadcasted on ESPNews.
