Siena’s Dowsett and Quinnipiac’s Henselder and Noel Earn Levy Recognition Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards
Offensive Player of the Week
Kaitlyn Dowsett, Siena
Jr., Manorville, NY/Eastport-South Manor
Dowsett had a superb week, scoring nine goals with four assists for 13 total points in a 2-0 week for the Saints. Her offense, including a six goal, three assist game on Tuesday led to two high scoring results for the Saints, including the Green & Gold's second 19 goal game of the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kat Henselder, Quinnipiac
So., Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst Senior
Henselder anchored two Quinnipiac wins over Manhattan last weekend, making 22 saves in the two-game series. In Friday's game, the sophomore goalkeeper stopped 12 shots and picked up two ground balls in the win. In Sunday's game, Henselder made 10 saves, picked up a career-high six ground balls and caused two turnovers in the Bobcats victory. She has made 117 saves this season, the fourth highest total in the country and she is making 11.70 saves per game, the third best mark nationally.
Rookie of the Week
Maddie Noel, Quinnipiac
First Year, Syracuse, NY/Fayetteville Manlius
Noel scored five goals and added an assist in two Quinnipiac victories over Manhattan last weekend. In the first matchup between the teams, the first-year attack matched her career high in goals with three and points with four. She also picked up a ground ball in the win. In the second game of the weekend, Noel added two more goals to finish up the series.
