Siena Claims 2021 MAAC Women’s Tennis Championship Title

WEST WINDSOR, NJ (April 25, 2021) – The Siena Saints Women’s Tennis program has claimed the 2021 MAAC Women’s Tennis Championship Title by defeating Quinnipiac 4-1. The Saints will advance to the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship.
 
Siena College (7-3, 3-2 MAAC) claimed their second MAAC Championship with their victory over Quinnipiac (9-5, 6-0 MAAC). This is the Saints' first MAAC Championship since 2006. Siena earned the doubles point as they had Meagan Brown and Kylie Mullaney, and Petra Miszczak and Emma Boggiali take their games 6-3 and 6-1 respectively. Siena would then earn the first singles point as Brown defeated Claire Koscielski, 6-0, 6-0. The Saints and Bobcats would trade the next two singles points as Anastasia Koniaev defeated Andie Williams 6-0, 6-4, and Kamilla Nella bested Mullaney 6-1, 2-6, 6-1. Freshman Emma Boggiali would go on to earn the championship point as she defeated Stephanie Yanosov 7-5, 6-3. After the match, Meagan Brown was named the Most Outstanding Player for the 2021 MAAC Women’s Tennis Championship as she went undefeated in her singles and doubles position in the tournament.  
 
Siena will automatically advance to the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship tournament. The Saints will find out their matchup and time on May 3 at 6:00 p.m. when the Women’s Tennis Selection show takes place on NCAA.com
