LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University freshman guard/forward Makayla Firebaugh (Winchester, VA/James Wood) has been named to the All-Met Second Team, the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association today announced. Firebaugh's selection marks the fifth-straight year Rider has had a player honored on the All-Met Teams, following Stella Johnson (2018-20) and Robin Perkins' (2017) selections.

"What a fantastic honor for Mick to be recognized by the All Met writers," said Rider Head Coach Lynn Milligan. "This is a terrific organization that really supports women's basketball to the highest level.  Mick had an amazing freshman season under crazy circumstances and will continue to grow and work moving forward for her team."

The MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year, Firebaugh scored in double figures a team-high 17 times in 25 games played. She averaged 11.0 points and added 4.4 rebounds per game and shot a team-high 89.4 percent from the free-throw line, connecting on each of her last 31 attempts from the line, dating back to Jan. 2. She was twice named MAAC Rookie of the Week, while also being selected MAAC Player of the Week on Feb. 1, following a career-high 26-point performance, while knocking down 6-of-8 three-point field-goal attempts on Jan. 30 at Monmouth. She also narrowly missed a double-double in the effort with nine rebounds.

Firebaugh helped Rider to a MAAC Quarterfinal upset of perennial MAAC power Quinnipiac with 12 points and six rebounds, before scoring 16 points and adding four rebounds in a near-upset of Saint Peter's in the MAAC Semifinals.
