th minute was all that No. 1 Siena College (5-0-1, 4-0-1 MAAC) required to advance to the 2020-21 MAAC Women’s Soccer Semifinals as they topped No. 8 Iona College (1-4-1, 1-3-1) by a final of 3-0 in the quarterfinal round. Annie Bagnall and Jayanna Monds added a pair of insurance goals in the second half for the Saints, as the team combined for 18 shots on the day. Siena will now welcome fourth-seeded Rider University to Hickey Field on Monday, April 12 in the semifinal round. Game time is to be determined. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
Siena Notes
- This was the 300th victory for Siena Women’s Soccer, which began play in 1980. This was also the Saints’ first game and victory as the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship.
- Following today’s game, Siena has outscored their opponents by a margin of 16-2.
- Siena extends their winning streak vs. Iona to nine games. In their last 11 home games vs. the Gaels, the Saints hold a 9-0-2 record.
- Bagnall, Julianna Kissane, and Caitlin Wania each registered an assist.
- Brooke Boermeester needed to make one save on the day to complete the shutout for the Saints. She now has back-to-back clean sheets in her first two career appearances.
Iona Notes
- This was Iona’s first appearance in the MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship since 2017, and first under head coach Todd Plourde.
- Netminder Angelina DeCicco registered four saves for the Gaels in her first start of the season.

After remaining scoreless through regulation and the first overtime period, Rebecca Cooke netted the game-winning goal in the 107
th minute to give No. 2 Quinnipiac University (5-1-1, 4-1-1 MAAC) a 1-0 victory over No. 7 Fairfield University (2-3-1, 2-2-1). This is the second straight game that the Bobcats defeated the Stags by a 1-0 score, having done it back on April 6 in their regular season finale. Quinnipiac now advances to the semifinal round where they will host No. 3 Monmouth University at home on Monday, April 12. Game time is to be determined. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
Quinnipiac Notes
- Cooke netted her team-leading fourth goal of the season. Her 10 points (4g, 2a) and 23 shots are also team-highs.
- First-year goaltender Sofia Lospinoso tallied seven saves on her way to a third-straight shutout win. Her shutout streak stands at 286 minutes without surrendering a goal.
- Kelsey Goldring earned the assist on Cooke’s game-winner.
- Quinnipiac outshot Fairfield in overtime, 5-2.
Fairfield Notes
- The Stags generated plenty of offense in the first 90 minutes, outshooting Quinnipiac in regulation, 10-7.
- Fairfield had the advantage in shots on goal, 7-5.
- Allie Kirby led the team with four total shots with three on target

No. 3 Monmouth University (4-1-2, 3-1-2 MAAC) broke through in the 69
th minute with the game-winning goal from Lauren Karabin, as they defeated No. 6 Niagara University (2-3-0, 2-2-0) by a score of 1-0. The Hawks offense was nonstop as they outshot Niagara, 30-4, and had a major advantage in corner kicks, 12-1. Monmouth will travel for their MAAC Women’s Soccer Semifinal game, as they will face No. 2 Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT on Monday, April 12. Game time is to be determined. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
Monmouth Notes
- Monmouth advances to the semifinal round of the MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship for the eighth consecutive season.
- Six players registered three or more shots for the night: Alexa Correa, Ashley Dellapietro, Lauren Karabin, Alexis Marino, Maddison Perna, and Jesi Rossman.
- Karabin’s seven shots and four SOGs were both team highs.
- Sarina Jones earned the one assist for Monmouth.
- Monmouth extends their winning streak vs. Niagara to 17, as they lead the all-time series, 17-1-0.

- Goaltender Clara Bornet had an impressive night in net, recording a career-high 11 saves for the evening.
- Kelsey Araujo and Emma Bough each tallied a shot on goal.

No. 4 Rider University (4-1-2, 3-1-2 MAAC) netted two goals in a second-half comeback to defeat fifth-seeded Manhattan College (3-3-0, 3-2-0), 2-1, and advance to the MAAC Women’s Soccer Semifinals. Makenzie Rodrigues equalized the game for the Broncs in the 48
th minute, with Hannah Freeman scoring the game-winner in the 68
th minute. Rider now heads to Loudonville, NY to face top-seeded Siena on Monday, April 12 in the semifinal round. Game time is to be determined. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
Rider Notes
- With the victory, the Broncs complete the season sweep of Manhattan. Rider won their previous meeting, 3-1, back on April 3.
- Rodrigues earned her team-leading sixth goal of the year. She also extended her team lead in points (14), shots (22), and shots on goal (13).
- Freeman’s goal was her second of the season
- Rodrigues, Hailey Russell, and Cameron Santers each tallied an assist
- Rider goalie Ellie Sciancalepore made a season-high eight saves in the win. She has begun her career with seven straight matches of five or more saves.

- Bri DeLeo scored her second goal of the season in the 13th minute to give the Jaspers the early lead, 1-0.
- Kim Mains made seven saves for Manhattan, matching her career-high.
- The Jaspers led in corner kicks, 13-6.
