Niagara’s Thompson, Fairfield’s Olaff, and Canisius Fazzolari Earn Rawlings MAAC Softball Weekly Award Winners
Pitcher of the Week
Julia Thompson, Niagara

Thompson tossed her first career complete-game shut-out as the Purple Eagles defeated Canisius, 2-0, in game two of a DH on May 5. She fanned a career-high six in the win and allowed just five hits. She also made an appearance in game one of the DH, striking out one and allowing just one hit in 2.0 innings pitched. On the week, she fanned seven, walked one and allowed just six hits in 9.0 innings pitched.
Player of the Week
Lacey Olaff, Fairfield

Lacey Olaff closed out the regular season with five RBI off five hits in a doubleheader sweep of Quinnipiac. The infielder started the doubleheader with three hits and four RBI in the first game and followed up with two hits and an RBI in the second game. For the week, Olaff batted .714 for the week with five hits in seven at-bats and a pair of doubles in the two regular-season games.
Rookie of the Week
Gianna Fazzolari, Canisius
Fr., Newfane, NY/Sacred Heart
In the Griffs midweek doubleheader against Niagara, freshman Gianna Fazzolari batted a .571 over two games, going 3-for-6 in the split. With three hits and a home run in game one, the freshman finished her regular season campaign with 26 RBIs.
