Hartford's Loza Heads to Columbus to Compete in NCAA Regionals
COLUMBUS, OHIO — Senior Maria Loza of the Hartford women's golf team heads to Columbus, Ohio to take part in the NCAA Regionals, held at the THE Ohio State Golf Club. The three-round tournament begins on Monday, May 10 and runs through Wednesday, May 12.

HARTFORD NOTES
- Loza heads to Columbus, Ohio, as the first player in program history to qualify for the NCAA Regional Tournament
- Loza qualified as an individual after becoming the first player in program history to repeat as the MAAC champion last month (April 25)
- She took home the crown after carding a 1-over (181) at the three-day event
- Loza's four-year career has been impressive, as the 2018 MAAC Rookie of the Year also won the MAAC Championship in 2019 with a score of 10-over 226
- She entered her senior season boasting the best career stroke average in program history with a 75.21
- Posting the best stroke average on the team this past season with a 76.81 mark, the Winter Orange, Fla., native secured a team-high six top-10 finishes in 2021
