Marist College (9-1, 6-2 MAAC) fell to USC (20-1, 11-1 PAC-12) by a score of 24-5 in the quarterfinals of the National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo Championship. The Red Foxes saw four players score their five goals. Marist season comes to an end but not after winning the MAAC Championship for the first time since 2010 and capturing the program’s first non-consolation victory in the National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo Championship.
 
Marist Notes
  • Marist won their first National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo Championship Game since 2010 and it was the program’s first non-consolation victory in team history, in the opening round versus Salem (WV).
  • Justine Castro (2), Myriam Lizotte (1), Orlova (1), and Shinae Carrington (1) all scored.
  • Kathryn McCullough recorded the team’s lone assist.
  • In net Marina Hyham made two saves and had one steal. Emily Hillard also appeared in net and made six saves. The two faced a total of 36 shots.
  • The Red Foxes had 24 shots and went two-for-11 on the powerplay.
